Love in the Time of Cholera

This post is for those that read Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Was this a true love story in every sense?

Does it matter that so much time takes place between falling in love and getting the girl, or is that what makes it so powerful?

Did the setting affect the story? how?

  1. I believe that it was a love story, but not entirely in every sense. I found that by the characters not ending up together for so long that the story was stretched and the love was not as intense as it was at the beginning. Oh and for anyone reading this sorry about the run ons but this is just a fast little post :)

  2. I think it takes a great deal away from the story. I grew tired of the love story being dragged on and on. I think that it was powerful that it took so long to get together. However, i think that it would have been more powerful if they had gotten together in the middle of the story.:):)
